Welcome Members and Guests!
Thank
you for visiting the NABA – Austin website. I encourage you to
visit us often to find out more about the Austin Cen-Tex Chapter
as we continue to grow our offerings to both our members and
corporate partners.
I am honored to be President of the NABA Austin Cen-Tex Chapter
for 2012-2014 and welcome you to our official website. NABA is
the premier association for African Americans and minorities in
the accounting, audit, finance, information technology, tax and
other business related fields. NABA is charged with providing
members with information, knowledge, education, training,
contacts, networking and understanding, as well as access to
both Chapter, Regional and National opportunities.
Our corporate sponsors continue to support our motto “Lifting as
We Climb” because our membership is made up of the most talented
professionals and students in this Austin and surrounding
communities. Our corporate partners want to meet, hire and
participate in the professional development of our members. We
all work with the understanding that diversifying the workforce
is not only a noble goal but one that improves the working
environment. NABA-Austin is here to ensure that this effort
continues by making sure that our members are ready to advance
and thrive in their chosen career path. Whether our members
work for a large corporation, an accounting firm or choose to
strike out on their own, we want to support that charge. Our
student members are groomed to become future leaders with these
same core values and attributes.
Through new programming – Financial Fitness Seminar, Day with
NABA, the Professional Development Conference, Student
Conferences, Scholarship and Awards Luncheon, Networking Events
and our joint Christmas Gala NABA-Austin offers a variety of
options to both members and non-members that want to improve
their business acumen. There are also a number of opportunities
to serve in leadership roles in the chapter and participate in
community service as we partner with other not-for-profit
organizations.
Each year the Chapter’s leadership team reevaluates how we can
effectively meet the goals of our members and corporate
partners. We ask ourselves, are we showing that there is a
benefit to being involved with NABA? Are our goals aligned with
those of our members and corporate partners? Are we doing
enough lifting and climbing? While we work hard to be able to
answer these questions in the affirmative, we would love your
input. We never forget who we are serving.
Feel free to e-mail me at
